Hi Members,

I have another update for our Weekend HWY 1 Coast Run: San Simeon → Big Sur.

Highway 1 has officially reopened, which means we are back on for the coastal ride. Because of the recent closure, we had shifted plans earlier this week, but with conditions improving, we’re adjusting the ride once again.

On Saturday, we will ride from San Simeon up to the River Inn in Big Sur. We’ll grab lunch from the General Store and enjoy a relaxed picnic down by the creek. After lunch, we’ll double back and ride Highway 1 south again, returning to San Simeon for the evening.

This update keeps the ride safe, scenic, and true to the spirit of our original plan while taking advantage of the newly reopened route.

Thank you all for your flexibility as conditions have changed — I’m looking forward to sharing this beautiful stretch of Highway 1 with you.

Members meet Friday morning 9:00 am (ksu 9:30) 3717 San Fernando Road, Glendale ca 91204 and return on Sunday.

Saturday we will Scenic Ride up along Highway 1 through Big Sur and Carmel by the Sea. We'll have a deli lunch in Carmel and then make our way back down to San Simeon for the night. 

Make your hotel reservations ASAP. Some are staying at Cavalier Oceanfront Resort in San Simeon and others are staying nearby.

1 King bed is $143.10 + tax per night. Comes to $342.60 for both Friday and Saturday nights. August 28 & 29.
2 Queen beds is $153.10 + tax per night. This is the price for Friday and Saturday evenings.
